"The Daily Mail" / "Staircase" is a 2011 single by the English alternative rock band Radiohead. It was released as a digital download on 19 December 2011 in WAV and MP3 formats.[1] It was also made available as vinyl and 180-gram virgin vinyl picture disc with lenticular laser-cut labels.[2] Both tracks are taken from the live video The King of Limbs: Live from the Basement,[3][4][5] and feature drummer and percussionist Clive Deamer of Get the Blessing.[6]

In an interview on BBC Radio 1, Radiohead guitarist Ed O'Brien explained that "The Daily Mail" had been "kicking around for at least six years"; when the band decided to perform the song forFrom the Basement, a final arrangement "came together within a week", featuring a brass section arranged by band member Jonny Greenwood.[7] In an interview for BBC Radio 6 Music, O'Brien explained that "Staircase" was worked on before the recording of The King of Limbs, but did not progress beyond the demo stages until after the album's release.[8]
