Bio[]

10 Years is an alternative metal band formed in Knoxville, Tennessee in early 1999. The founding members were drummer Brian Vodinh and guitarists Ryan Johnson, and Matt Wantland and bassist Lewis Cosby. What set them apart from many local bands was their determination and dedication to make it big. Before they had every recorded any demos, getting gigs at any rock club was next to impossible. However, this was a minor setback from the quintet as they ended up renting ballrooms and building their own stages by hand. They strung their own light shows and promoted themselves anyway they could. And thus on April 30th, 1999 300 people showed up to see 10 Years play. In 2001 they released their first self published album, "Into The Half Moon". In 2002 they made several changes, the main one being the addition of Jesse Hasek as their main vocalist, which brought the powerful sounds to them that people know today. A year later the "Killing All That Holds You" EP was released, and 10 Years began their ascent of the music industry, quickly developing a sound many compared to Tool and The Deftones. Later the EP was expanded with new takes on old songs and additional tracks. They then signed with Republic/Universal and in 2005, their first big hit was released, "The Autumn Effect". They took the material and went on tour with Disturbed and Ill Nino that same year through the fall and later with Breaking Benjamin and Smile Empty Soul, afterward it was on with Mudvayne and Sevendust. Their final touring stop was the family values tours in 2006 with Korn and the Deftones. Their biggest hit continues to be "Wasteland" which took the #1 spot on the rock charts in December of 2005. The video of it released later addressed human rights around the world and the great lack of them. It was nominated for several awards at the MTV Video Music Awards, but won nothing. As of late fall 2006, the band is back writing music for their second major label CD slated to be recorded in first quarter 2007 for release in third quarter 2007.
