J.P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson is a 1950s rock musician best remembered for his hit "Chantilly Lace". Unfortunately, his career was tragically cut short after he was killed in the 1959 plane crash that also killed Buddy Holly and Richie Valens, immortalized in Don McClean's song American Pie as The Day the Music Died.
